How long does treatment with dental braces take?
There is no set time that applies to each and every individual. Depending on the treatment you require your Geelong orthodontist will advise you how long you will have to wear braces on your teeth. It could be as little as six months, or it could be years – it all depends on the extent we have to realign your teeth. And remember, adults’ teeth are fully grown and denser so can take longer to move than children’s teeth. Give Braces N Faces a call if you’d like to know more about the length of treatment.
Are lingual braces available in Geelong?
They sure are. Our specialist orthodontists in Geelong use lingual braces when necessary or when patients request them. Lingual braces fit on the inside of teeth and are consequently not visible. Talk to Braces N Faces if you’d like to know about lingual braces.
Some of my teeth are sideways, can you straighten them?
Rotated teeth are not uncommon but need to be aligned because they can trap food and lead to gum disease and tooth decay. Rotations are just one of the numerous disorders our orthodontists in Geelong treat on a daily basis with a variety of correction techniques, including braces, elastics and retainers to name a few.
Is there a way to straighten my teeth without a mouth full of wires?
First of all, there is no need to be embarrassed about wearing braces on your teeth. Why should you be embarrassed about wanting to look and feel better? But if you are worried about wearing braces that are highly visible every time you smile, then you need to consider Invisalign invisible braces. Invisalign is a big winner in Geelong for people who don’t want to show off their braces and our orthodontists in Geelong can explain how they work. We also have lingual braces, which we fit to the inside of your teeth out of sight.
Are there dental disorders your Geelong orthodontists can’t treat?
It’s a little hard to answer that question without knowing the nature of the problem. We’ve successfully treated a wide variety of disorders and provided braces for teeth in countless Geelong patients. Rather than wondering whether our orthodontists can help you, book an appointment and come in and see us.
Why do my teeth and jaw hurt in the morning?
It sounds like you might be suffering from bruxism, also known as teeth grinding. Many people who grind their teeth, usually when they’re asleep, wake with aching jaws and sensitive teeth. Bruxism can lead to tooth damage but the damage is easily preventable by our Geelong orthodontists prescribing a nightguard. A nightguard is a special type of mouthguard which patients wear at night to stop the damage caused by grinding teeth or jaw clenching. Get in touch with Braces N Faces if you need advice about tooth and/or jaw pain.
